Dr. Jeanie Paik, M.D. specializes in cataract, cornea, and the anterior segment.  Her practice is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care in ophthalmology with a particular focus on advanced cataract surgery techniques including custom procedures featuring multifocal and toric lenses as well as femtosecond laser cataract surgery.

Dr. Paik is also a cornea transplant surgeon who performs ultra-thin DSAEK (Descemet’s stripping endothelial keratoplasty), DMEK (Descemet’s membrane endothelial keratoplasty), and penetrating keratoplasty. She has clinical interests in keratoconus, corneal dystrophies such as Fuchs’, pterygium, and corneal infections. Her skill set extends to refractive surgery where she offers procedures such as PRK. She is also experienced in collagen cross linking, the only FDA-approved treatment for keratoconus. Notably, she is a dry eye specialist offering a comprehensive array of treatments including Prokera, punctal plugs, and serum tears.

Dr. Paik earned her Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from the University of Southern California in Biological Sciences and International Relations. She subsequently achieved her Medical Doctorate from the esteemed University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Her medical journey included a transitional year internship at Macneal Hospital in Berwyn, IL followed by residency at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York, NY. Further enhancing her skills and knowledge, she completed a specialized fellowship in cornea, refractive surgery, and external diseases at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

An active member of professional organizations, Dr. Paik is affiliated with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cornea and Refractive Surgery, and the Cornea Society. Outside of her professional commitments, she enjoys quality time with her family, including her son and daughter.
