Dr. Wang graduated with Honors from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned her medical degree at the University of California, San Diego. She completed her ophthalmology residency training at Stanford University followed by a subspecialty fellowship in Glaucoma at UCSF.
Dr. Wang is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and Women in Ophthalmology. She is the founder and director of the Women in Ophthalmology Mentorship Program, and she currently serves on the Board of Directors.
Dr Wang is a Clinical Assistant Professor-Affiliated in the Department of Ophthalmology at Stanford University and Co-Director of the Glaucoma Service at the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital. She is active in teaching medical students and training residents in glaucoma and cataract surgery, employing state-of-the-art technology including a virtual reality surgery simulator.
Dr. Wang has extensive experience treating complex glaucoma patients, drawing upon a range of techniques including the Express shunt, various tube shunts, endocyclophotocoagulation, and ultrasound biomicroscopy. She is also active in clinical research, including projects dedicated to improving medication compliance and understanding eye conditions associated with traumatic brain injuries in our military personnel.
In her free time, she enjoys family trips to the zoo, picnics in the park, baking cupcakes, looking for cool seashells, and a good burrito.
