Dr. Christopher J. Engelman



Dr. EngelmanDr. Engelman graduated with High Distinction in general scholarship from U.C. Berkeley and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society while attending Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.  After graduation from medical school, he completed his ophthalmology residency training at Stanford University followed by a fellowship in glaucoma at Devers Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon.  He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society and the California Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Engelman is a Clinical Assistant Professor-Affiliated in the department of ophthalmology at Stanford University where he is committed to the education of medical students and ophthalmology residents.  He is also actively involved in clinical research, investigating new medical, laser and surgical approaches to the management of glaucoma.

Outside of his medical practice, he enjoys spending time with his family, swimming and reading fiction.
